These sessions are suitable for puppies and young dogs who have completed the Foundation for Gundogs course or for older dogs with some experience of gundog work.
It is also suitable for handlers with experience of clicker training but just starting out on their gundog journey, or for handlers with experience of gundog work but without any clicker training experience.
The sessions are suitable for those wishing to work towards the Gundog Club Grade 2 (for more information see www.gundogclub.co.uk) plus Novice Dog/Novice Handler working tests.
Content will be topic-based each month and will include progression in the topics covered in Foundation for Gundogs, connection building, recall, sit, heelwork, retrieves, play, settle, hunting, duration in static and action behaviours with distractions, use of targets in grid work, planning, plus much more.
Each session will cover the main topic as well as the principles of clicker training and building valuable rewards in play that can be used to add strength to other behaviours.
They will include a focus on building steadiness and isolation cues, plus building of distance and duration.
