To gain the most from this summer camp, your dog needs to be able to swim for a short distance. If your dog has not experienced water before, then please book a 121 with Lynsey to help you introduce water before booking.

Payment plans are available, subject to a 5% admin fee. Please email hello@clickergundog.co.uk for more information.
Campervan and camping facilities available on site. No hitch up.

This full week of gundog training is fun packed and focussed totally on water work. During the week, a variety of water venues may be used.

Our Foundation Water Work Summer Camp, led by Lynsey, is suitable for...

  • All breeds of gundog, including retrievers, spaniels and HPRs
  • Dogs which have already been introduced to water, whose owners would like to build their confidence and ability to retrieve from and over water
  • Pet gundog owners who would like to teach their dog to swim confidently and who want to give them enrichment, but need to learn how to do it with some control
  • Those looking to participate in the Gundog Club Grade 3 field assessment, which includes a water element
  • Those looking to eventually work their dogs in the field or participate in working tests

Our Foundation Water Work Summer Camp will cover topics including:

  • Improving confidence in the water
  • Entering water when cued
  • Recalling from the water
  • Building stamina, swimming for longer and further
  • Retrieving skills from the water
  • Delivery, marking, distance, re-direction
  • Arousal management.

The exercises will be set to meet the needs of the participants on the day. It will be a fun task-based programme of learning for you with your dog.

*On Thursday evening, there will be a group supper at a local pub. This is scheduled for 4.30 pm so we can leave straight from the training venue. This is a dog-friendly pub, and your dogs are welcome to sit with us in the restaurant area, or, if the weather permits, in the garden while we eat.
